BoonieM aka Martijn van Boon (NL) found his inspiration from the iron foundry that was located here in 1856. He also took the big city fire of 1603 in consideration when coming up with the design. A starting point since the two buildings Martijn was working in from of went up in flames about a year earlier.
Unfortunately the wooden wall got rearranged by construction workers after the first day of painting. Who was behind this deed of unkindness is still unknown. Leaving Martijn with some difficulties keeping his sketch in order. Eventually he did! In the course of a couple of days after finishing the piece the wall got stripped down, rearranged and put back up about 4 times. Some wooden panels even got removed and are still at an unknown location. Leaving only three panels of his original painting left to be seen by bystanders and shop owners.
