The treaty of Breda was signed at the city of Breda on July 31, 1667. Breda remembers this event in the summer of 2017, where it happend 350 years ago. The Stedelijk Museum Breda initiated a project for the young and old in which the museum invited people to color. People could choose three different coloring pictures designed by illustrators Fred de Heij, Hedof and Mandy Peeters. The pictures are based on the print ‘The Treaty of Breda’ by Romeijn de Hooghe from 1667. A professional jury, including Dennis Elbers of the Blind Walls Gallery and a children’s jury selected three winners out of the more than hundred entries.
Tyrza colored the picture made by Hedof during the Toddler festival. Her picture is chosen to be made into a mural in one the museum walls. You can visit the mural and the winning pictures in the I.S.M Breda space in the museum till August 13th.
