Art is a distraction from real life, which can cause a reduction in blood pressure and lowering of the heart rate of patients and visitors. Making people feel less tense when they enter the hospital. The mural consists of a surprising, laughable and mind-boggling message, which will make you forget you’re at a hospital, if only for a second.
Ilja Kramer (NL) and Francien van Capelle (NL) met each other during their ‘Design in Context’ studies at AKV St. Joost in Breda. They are focus on social issues on which they react intuitively. Their designs radiate simplicity yet have a powerful message.
