Unique tableware

This historical miniature house with brick facades and many corners is a real challenge to paint. The story of this mural dates back to the 19th century when there was a catering school located at this site. Maikki Rantala refers to this with a variety of ceramic plates in traditional Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Arabic and even Finnish styles.

Maikki Rantala is a community artist who’s been working on large scale participatory street art projects since 2012. To Maikki street art is a form of urban activism, a way to tackle many of the challenges that urbanisation presents us with. She often aims her murals at children, as they are often more observant of their surroundings than adults.
