This mural shows the transformation of man and water and is based on the nearby city stream: De Molenleij. Centuries ago, this stream served as a ditch between agricultural fields; today it is an urban stream that crosses the Brabantpark district.

Robert Jan was inspired by old school pictures of streams, rivers and plants. The construction of this Blind Wall consists of a cross-section, in which three animals are central: a beaver, a fish and a heron. This trio represents land, water and air.

During the 2023 Open Call, Robert Jan was chosen by the jury as the winner. His prize was the commission for this mural in Breda’s public space.
