Blind Walls Gallery is once again looking in 2026 for new voices who want to shape public space. With the Talent Call, creators get the opportunity to develop their skills in the art of mural painting and to put their own practice on the map or expand it.<\/p>\n

In three weeks, the application<\/a> closes: this is the moment to submit your portfolio and take part in a unique program focused on production, presentation and professional development.<\/p>\n

Room for growth and experimentation<\/strong><\/p>\n

What sets the Blind Walls Talent Call apart is its guidance and the variety of assignments. A professional jury consisting of Rick Molyneux (Creative Director Wallin\u2019 Vlaanderen), Julia \u201cBuuf\u201d Buur (artist and Blind Walls Talent 2025) and Dennis Elbers (founder of Blind Walls Gallery) will review the submitted portfolios and select five creators to take part in the program.<\/p>\n

Once selected, participants are paired with a coach from the field. Last year, for example, Julia Buur was mentored by Rotterdam muralist Marloes de Kiewit, locally known for her mural at the Hoge Steenweg. During knowledge sessions, both artistic and practical skills are deepened. From the first sketch to a full mural, creators invest sustainably in their own practice and can use the program as a springboard into public space. Since attending the Talent Call last year, Buur will work a permanent mural in Breda somewhere in the coming weeks! More info on her new work soon.<\/p>\n

Art in public space<\/strong><\/p>\n

Murals play a unique role in the urban landscape. They are freely accessible, visible to a wide audience and contribute to the identity of a place. They invite encounters, reflection and conversation between residents, visitors and creators.<\/p>\n

The murals created by the five selected talents at Ploegendienst Festival and the subsequent solo exhibitions at Blind Walls HQ offer visitors insight into the creative process, visual language and the stories behind the work. Artist talks and presentations further strengthen and deepen the exchange between creators and the public. In this way, the Talent Call not only stimulates the artistic landscape but also the social and cultural dynamics of the city.<\/p>\n

A growing community<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even for creators who are not selected, participation holds value. Applications help bring new talent into view and make them part of the wider Blind Walls community. Through events, updates and invitations, this group stays connected to future opportunities and developments. Communities like this form an essential foundation for a healthy and inclusive art ecosystem.<\/p>\n
