Italian artist Dodici – based in Rotterdam – is known for his playful style and colorful characters. He draws inspiration from everyday situations, adding multiple layers that allow the viewer to observe and understand what is happening (for example) both above and below the surface of the earth. This time, he works horizontally – a fitting approach for the building, and the collaboration between man and machine. His work can be seen around the world, from North Africa to the United States.
For Breda Robotics, Dodici has immersed himself in the world of robotics. We see a male and female engineer working together with today’s equipment to develop the technology of the future. The humanoid figure created in the artwork is also a nod to an invisible technology that has become indispensable when we talk about innovation: artificial intelligence (AI). The mural highlights the groundbreaking applications being developed inside the building, quite literally putting them in the spotlight. It serves as a perfect visual representation of the innovation district, which is set to become the hotspot for creative technology applications in the near future.
The collaboration between Blind Walls Gallery, Breda Robotics, Breda Business, the Municipality of Breda, and artist Dodici shows how art, entrepreneurship, and technology can reinforce one another. In this way, the so called “Innovation District” lives up to its name by fostering unexpected collaborations. The artwork is a visual statement that aligns with the city’s forward-looking ambitions. Blind Walls Gallery hopes to continue adding color to the various zones within the district in the future.
