The candy store of Breda

The mural was inspired by Breda’s legendary candy store Katjang, which was located in the Ginnekenstraat in the 60’s.

Edwin Wiekens

Lekker

The mural consists of delicious lollipop flowers and brightly coloured peanuts lingering in a mystical atmosphere. The big red shoe is full of salty liquorice. If you look closely you can read the word ‘lekker’ (tasty) written in yellow shoelaces. The little creatures, known as ‘kinkmoles’, make an appearance as they observe their tasty surroundings with hungry eyes.
