Jeroen Erosie

After the murals by Gino Bud Hoiting, Guido de Boer en Jan van der Ploeg at the Chassé Theatre, we present a new project in the local theatre: Blind Walls Changement. Every year, a different artist will paint this wall in the Struktonfoyer with a design inspired by the theatre.

Artist Jeroen Erosie is the first to create a mural for Blind Walls Changement. Observations in and around the theatre building resulted in a sketchbook full of impressions. With this, Erosie reflects on the architecture of the Chassé Theatre, designed by Herman Hertzberger, and on his on working method. Erosie’s work originates in graffiti-lettering, processing impressions from the urban environment is still at the root of all his work. His impressions are both abstract and traceable. Erosie used a special painting technique that makes it seem like the lines were drawn on with a marker.
