Iris’ work is an ode to forgotten objects. In addition to her work as an artist, she also works in home support. As a stranger, she gets a glimpse into the lives of others. She visits places where things are scattered and clutter lives. The exhibition is based on images of spaces and places that she has stored in her head, she calls them “thought photos”. For her, the passing away of these objects symbolizes the passing away of ideas, thoughts and feelings. By bringing them back to life, they gain new value.
Iris is one of the five makers participating in the Talent Call 2024. From 170 entries, Iris, together with four others, was chosen by a professional jury. Under the guidance of a coach from the field, they receive various assignments over the course of a year, such as creating a mural at Ploegendienst Festival and a solo exhibition in the Blind Walls Gallery Gallery.
Zenk One has several Blind Walls to his name, the most recent being ‘De Brandwacht’ (The Fire Watch) in the Blushuis. He makes illustrations, murals and paintings. His work is recognizable by the flowing, ‘realistic’ line drawings with a graphic touch. Sometimes Robin combines this style with photorealistic elements made with a spray can, the tool with which it all started years ago.
