Blind Walls Film Fest reveals first titles

Blind Walls Film Fest today reveals the first titles of its programme for the fourth edition, taking place from 4 to 8 February 2026 at Chassé Cinema in Breda. Once again, the festival invites visitors into the stories behind murals, street art and graffiti, offering a programme of films, workshops and lectures. As in previous years, the 2026 edition will centre around an international, surprising and diverse line-up.

“Over the past few years, we’ve seen the festival grow into a meeting place for creators, audiences and experts. This shows how strong the need is for deeper insight into art in public spaces. Films provide context, meaning and impact to the art we encounter on the streets every day.”
Dennis Elbers, director of Blind Walls Gallery

A first look at the programme

The film programme presents a rich array of stories and perspectives from creators across the globe. This year’s opening film is Balomania, a spectacular documentary about the secret society of balloon artists in Brazilian favelas and their illegal, airborne creations.

The mysterious German film Blaues Licht promises an ingenious blend of fiction and documentary, constantly challenging the viewer: what is real, and what has been carefully staged?

In The Underbelly Project, audiences descend underground into an abandoned New York subway tunnel, where leading street artists once worked in utmost secrecy on an unprecedented art project.

These and other films will be screened over several days and accompanied by masterclasses, Q&As and talks by international experts. In the run-up to the festival, the programme will be expanded with new titles, each highlighting a different facet of art in public spaces: How do these works come to be? What stories lie behind them? What drives the makers? And what social impact does this art have on our society?

Open Call for filmmakers

As in previous years, filmmakers can submit their work through FilmFreeway, the international platform for independent films. Selected creators will have the opportunity to present their work to a wide audience. A monetary award is available for both the jury prize and the audience prize. Submissions are open until 31 December 2025.
