Remember Beatrix with NAC Breda!

From 1940 to 1996, the stadium on Beatrixstraat was the true home of NAC Breda. Today, nothing remains to remind us of this iconic place — until now!

NAC Breda and Blind Walls Gallery, together with the NAC Museum, are bringing the rich history of the old stadium back into the streetscape. Not with walls, but with seven unique ground paintings on the walking path in Van Sonsbeeck Park, created by John van Ierland.

At seven locations, paintings will be installed to bring the past to life. Through an animated video, visitors will also be able to discover additional stories and view original archive footage next year. This way, you can relive the most beautiful moments in NAC Breda’s history, right where they once happened.

The original plan was to install all seven visuals in the park at once. For various reasons, this will now happen in two phases. In September 2025, the first three visuals will be painted on the footpaths. The map below shows where they will be placed — specifically visuals 1, 4, and 7. The second phase will follow in April, May, and June 2026, when visuals 2, 3, 5, and 6 will be added. This will also mark thirty years since NAC played their last home match on Beatrixstraat.
