For centuries, Breda has been a place where people gather, from the moment the Mark and the Aa merge into the ‘Brede Aa’. Led by the power couple Hendrik III of Nassau-Breda and his third wife Mencía de Mendoza, the city welcomed princes, artists and scholars from all over Europe.
Together with the local population, they made Breda a beloved city where life is still celebrated every day. Breda is a vibrant meeting place where innovation and creativity come together, inspired by influential thinkers and doers.
Illustrator Daan van Bommel collaborated with Handpicked Lab and was inspired by the story of Hendrik and Mencia. The design on the door was created by Daan himself. The other illustrations were generated by a specially developed Al model and applied by and robotic printer.
