The Berlin artist duo ZEBU was inspired by the rich history of the building that now houses Galerie Ecker. The figurative elements in the mural symbolise the history.

Galerie Ecker was a carpet factory until 1912. Later, the building functioned as a studio for the local sculptor Hein Koreman. Koreman designed the war monument ‘De Vlucht’ (The Flight), located in the Valkenberg park.
The character on the left of the mural is working on an abstract sculpture. It is a reference to the current function of the place, a gallery and studio for visual arts.
